The things of the flesh perish while the things of the spirit are everlasting.
1Cr 15:50

It is your choice which pathway you walk, Spirit or flesh.
Seek for Heavenly rewards and not earthly gain.
All you gain on earth you will lose.
All rewards in Heaven are eternal.
Rom 8:4-6
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.
The way of the flesh is easy to follow and many they are who choose it.
Mat 7:13
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
The way of The Spirit is not easy and few they are who walk in it.

Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
