To live a holy life requires much patience and few they are who have the
patience to become a saint.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Brethren, we are on a road that leads to Heaven and the journey may be a
long one filled with
many difficulties and sufferings.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
2 Thessalonians 1:4
Don't turn back.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Peter 2:20
Don't take detours.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Do not look for shortcuts because they all lead to blind alleys.
Matthew 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Do not allow others to side track you unto roads that lead nowhere, but instead
keep on the road
that leads to Heaven.
¶My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Neither turning to the left nor to the right but keep on going on the road
that leads straight to Heaven.
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
